Blindness, a State of Mind

.

Blindness, a State of Mind

There once was a blind girl, who hated herself because she was blind. She also hated everyone else, except her loving boyfriend, because he was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I would marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?'

The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She had not expected that. The thought of looking at his closed eyelids the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend was devastated and left broken hearted and in tears. Days later he wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes my love, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

That is how our human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few people remember what life was like before the changes, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

The life we have been blessed with today, with all of its ups and downs is still a Precious Gift!

Before we say an unkind word to a sister or a brother, we should think of someone who cannot speak.

Before we complain about the taste of our food we should think about our sister or brother who has nothing to eat.

Before we complain about our husband or wife, we must think of someone who is crying out to GODDESS-GOD for a companion.

Today, before we complain about life we must think of someone who only got the chance to live but a few years of life.

Before whining about the distance that we have to drive, think of someone who walks twice that distance every day and is thankful for being able to do so.

When we are tired and complain about our job, we should think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had our job paying half the salary we get.

In addition, when depressing thoughts seem to get us down we must find a way to put a smile on our face and think: we are so fortunate to be alive and still around.

We Must Always Give Thanks For Every Life Experience.

No Matter What The Situation, The Offering of Gratitude Is Always In Order.
