Family

Family

There are two old sayings that express just about everything I am thinking about, and want to share with you today. “You don’t miss your water until your well runs dry.” and “You don’t realize what you have until you have lost it.”

Family is one of the most precious gifts we are given throughout our entire lifetime. It is of the utmost importance that we fully comprehend that the gift of family is not isolated only to our biological family members. For various reasons, many of us do not know our biological family members. However, even though that is a part of some people’s reality, the fact remains that they still can have family. A family is defined by the personal relationships people have between each other. I like this definition of family the best. Family: a relationship people have with each other that causes them to relate to, and treat each other with a special loyalty and intimacy. When most think of intimacy, they think of having a sexual relationship. However, to be intimate with someone is simply to have a close personal relationship with him or her, it does not have to be sexual. If we do not and cannot have and intimate relationship with biological family members, that kind of relationship is available to us with many other people we come to know. GREAT SPIRIT provides us with everything we need to live a spiritually balanced healthy and productive life. Part of the equation of living a spiritual balanced healthy and productive life is relating to others as family; also the tangible act of sharing Unconditional Love with others as family members. If we fall short of that mark, it is only because of the choices we have made in life. Be assured that it has absolutely nothing to do with lack, because we are offered a multitude of opportunities on a daily bases. Abundance of every kind is part of our natural birthright.

If we are fortunate enough to have our biological family, we most definitely should honor, take advantage of, and maintain that precious gift/relationship. We must do everything that we can within our power to make our family relationships work. Sometimes that may have to be done long distance because of certain situations. If you have experienced emotional or physical abuse from a family member, it may not be advisable to try to resurrect and maintain a family relationship in person initially. However, that is not to say that you should not try to develop a long distance relationship with them. If done properly, starting a long distance relationship with an abusive family member can be very healing for both individuals. If nothing else, in doing so, you release yourself from the emotional bondage and pain cause by that negative out of balance relationship, and you offer them the same healing process and redemption. Forgiveness and Unconditional Love are the keys that open the doors to the process of healing, reconciliation, total transformation, and spiritual restoration in such out of balance situations. Most of the time, the problems experienced between family members are not as severe as that, they are not as bad as we believe they are, because left unmonitored our minds can run away with our imagination and create all kinds of scenarios that are unreal. In most cases, we will actually see that which separates us are minor issues when viewed through our clear rational vision, because it is no longer obstructed by our emotions, pride, and outright unreasonable stubbornness. We need to put our emotions aside and allow Unconditional Love to work its delightful wonders. My favorite saying that is known worldwide says it all. “Love Conquers All!” Period, I rest my case.

If you still have both or one parent living, you should give them all of the Unconditional Love that you can, and as much time as you possibly can as well. If you do not do that, I can guarantee you that you will regret it one day when they have made transition from this physical plane. When they make transition, it is to late to physically Love them as family. However, even in such a situation, it is never too late to rectify problems, and situations experienced between you, them, and others. That is so because everything, absolutely everything is energy including conflict, also because we are eternal Spiritual Beings and not the extremely limited human beings that we identify with so closely most of the time. We can always reach out through the Spiritual Plane and heal all manner of emotional and spiritual wounds. Moreover, if we have the opportunity to do so in the here and now, why wait until later and only experience that joy in a limited and temporary way? We can experience the joy of family on many different planes of existence in the here and now, and eternally if we act appropriately. Sometimes all it takes is simply recognizing that others have need of receive our Love unconditionally just as much as we need to receive their Love unconditionally. Therefore, it is our duty, privilege, and delightful honor to share our Love with others unconditionally. The key is always offering Love unconditionally, offering Love with no strings attached. All we have to do to accomplished receiving the joy experienced in a Loving family relationship is, simply subduing our oversized self-pride and ego, and start with sharing a small amount of our time and Unconditional Love with our family on a consistent basis.

I regretted the transition of my father because I did not spend as much time with him in his last days as I should have because I was so wrapped up in my ex-wife, my family, and the church I was involved with at the time. My Dad was and still is my hero, role model, and my best friend. I missed a very important special sacred time and opportunity, because I was caught up in what I thought I needed, and because I was caught up in that which was self-serving, because I did not understand the Divine Principle of Oneness at that time. We are all one, what affect one in a positive or negative way, affects all likewise. It is very easy to miss the mark, even with the ones you Love the most in life, especially when we loose our spiritual focus, because that is when we see ourselves as individuals, even an island is connected to the rest of the land formations of the world. An island looks like it stands all-alone. However, and island is connected to all of the land formations of the world, we just cannot see it because the connection is so deep in the sea. There is a saying; “No man is an island, no man stands alone.” A man or woman can be like an island and seem like they stand-alone, however, they are connected deep down in the ocean of Spiritual Reality. That is why I am dropping you this friendly and most important reminder. Love unconditionally, and show as much respect and gratitude to your family as you possibly can.

We must release all of our differences and allow ourselves to carry out that which we are here to do, Love our family members, everyone, and everything else unconditionally. In addition, as I said earlier, if need be, that can be done long distance. The most important thing is that we do it, and if we are not doing it, we had better get started now. No matter what issues we may have with our parents and no matter what issue our parents may have with us, we owe our Unconditional Love to them for allowing us to the opportunity to enter this physical plane through them. So in essence, we literally owe our lives to our parents, because without them, we would not be here right now as we are in physical form. So lets allow Love to work its Wonder Working Powers on, in, and through our Precious Families and us. That is one way we can help turn this entire world around. The world is in the condition that it is today because most are missing the Divine Energy of Unconditional Love in their lives from their families, others, and themselves. One major way of learning how to Love, is through the act of being loved unconditionally by someone. Let us all join in and teach someone how to Love. Love others unconditionally and become a teacher of Love.
